We are rooted in Munich,
and at home in the world.
We want to leave the earth a little better than we found it. To us, a natural and sustainable way of doing business is just as much a matter of course as the responsible use of resources.
We work together with local partners wherever possible, thereby keeping transport and delivery routes short and making full use of what Mother Nature offers us right on our doorstep. For instance, the wood used for the floorboards comes from Bavarian forests, the beds produced by the Mühldorfer company come from the Bavarian Forest, and we obtain our fresh food mainly from suppliers located in and around Munich.
We generate Augustin’s energy needs in our very own combined heat and power plant, for the air conditioning system we rely on water from deep wells in our garden and solar cells on the roof of the house provide additional energy.
On top of this, we are also involved in long-term collaborations with non-profit companies such as Viva con Agua from St. Pauli / Hamburg, from whom we purchase our 100% recycled “social” toilet paper.
And then there’s also the company Stop the water while using me! that supplies us with natural cosmetic products such as hand soap, shampoo and shower gel.
Our clothes hangers are from Peppermint Products and are handmade in sheltered workshops. There, particular attention is paid to quality in order to manufacture durable products that have a minimum impact on the environment.
In our hotel shop located at the reception, you will find everything you need to round off your trip to Munich and to keep the memories alive. You will find all kinds of beautiful, good and healthy things from Munich and the surrounding area here, carefully selected and sorted by our team.
This is our promise to ensure that you enjoy a pleasant stay and can do so with a clear conscience.
Due to current ecological challenges, improving the environmental situation is one of the most pressing tasks of our time.
Such improvements can be achieved through technological innovations as well as through organisational measures. That is why we have decided to introduce the European Union’s Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) as our environmental management system.
With its strict requirements, EMAS is a highly demanding system for sustainable environmental management in companies and organisations.
Sustainability, resource efficiency, and credibility are the focus of EMAS. Through careful and responsible management of available financial, material, and ecological resources, we aim to contribute to an environmentally sound future.
